GENERAL SUMMARY
This position will lead and facilitate
continuous improvement projects in support of Service Solutions goals and
objectives. The Continuous Improvement Engineer
will provide guidance to the leadership team in the deployment of
continuous improvement concepts. The individual will help to identify
improvement opportunities and the resources necessary to accomplish planned
improvements. The incumbent will lead, coach, and mentor multiple improvement
teams to affect rapid change.
1.
Implement Continuous Improvement methodologies to
help the business achieve its goals and objectives. Improvement projects are likely to focus on
the product development cycle, manufacturing processes, sourcing initiatives
and supply chain optimization.
2.
Establish new processes that remove waste and
focus on key customer requirements.
3.
Provide training, coaching and mentoring in
Continuous Improvement concepts and techniques
4.
Employ leadership and project management skills
to ensure projects are completed on time and meet the objectives in the
charter.
5.
Function as a change agent. Continuously challenge the way things are
done. Promote creativity and out of the
box thinking.
6.
Share and standardize best practices and
processes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
KNOWLEDGE
and CERTIFICATION:
Required:
§
BS Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline
§
Experience working in manufacturing operations (5-yrs min)
§
Practical experience applying Lean Manufacturing concepts (3-yrs min)
§
Strong statistical and analytical problem solving skills.
§
Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (or equivalent).
Preferred:
§
Six Sigma Black Belt certification
§
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
SKILLS:
§
Strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills to all
levels of the organization
§
Demonstrated project management skills
§
Computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project, Minitab,
Visio, Baan/other ERP system
ABILITIES:
§
Proven ability to solve problems and improve processes.
§
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
